I received a pair of jointed hands free with Silvio’s body. I was very fortunate to avail of many events with Alice’s Collection when I placed my first order this year.
I had in my mind to try my hand at blushing the hands with pastels that I bought last year in the art shop, Kennedy’s on Harcourt street.
These are the jointed hands before I blushed them.

I prepared the resin hands by spraying these with Humbrol matte varnish. I did it outside, wearing gloves, I placed the hands in a shallow cardboard box. The dried spray gives the resin a good grip for the pastels.

I added some blue for the veins and a base of sand pastel.

I then added some pink on the joint parts and around the nails but looking at it the pink is too pink, I know for the next time when I brush Akira’s jointed hands.

The nails got some special treatment, I painted them with some semi gloss.

Next blushing project for Silvio will be his whole body. I need to work on a softer pink mix.
